As research method, Axiomatic Design is applied by translating students’ and companies’ needs into functional requirements and then into a set of design parameters/guidelines.read more read lessĪbstract: Engineering students are often lectured and afterwards examined in a knowledge-oriented way. ![]() This paper therefore aims to use a systematical and structured way to develop such design guidelines for I4.0 learning factories. So far, there are only few works dealing with this topic and providing adequate design guidelines. With the introduction of industry 4.0 (I4.0) also many learning factories have to adapt their education model as well as their offer in order to meet the expectations of students and companies. In most cases, these consist of demonstration lessons as well as the opportunity to design, test and optimize production systems and processes in practice. In recent years, many learning factories have been established and experiments have been carried out in the application of practical learning methods. Subsequently an approach is developed to design a maturity model for learning factories and presented in this paper.read more read lessĪbstract: Learning Factories (LF) are becoming increasingly popular to teach students, how the methods and concepts learned in theory work in a hands-on and industry-related environment. For thedesign of the maturity model different existing models are compared and evaluated regarding their applicability to learning factories. Hence, a maturity model for learning factories will be developed with the morphology on learning factories, established by the international community, as starting point.A deriveddescription model merges design levels, dimensions and elements and is the basis for the maturity model. Furthermore, it is not yet possible to identify potentials for improvement. Besides, a lack of defined and proven standards as well as transparency causes a decline of the learning system during the continuous operation. An intuitive design by technical experts often misses the consideration of didactical and educational approaches. Abstract: The constructive design and systematical development of learning factories is one of the main topics in the field of research on learning factories. ![]()
